Miami / USA (embarkation) / "The Gateway to America," as Miami is sometimes called, is a modern metropolis on the shores of the Florida peninsula. This multicultural center is a renowned resort for the American elite, featuring a range of luxury hotels, boutiques, and bars, primarily located on the sandy spit known as Miami Beach. Besides being a tourist paradise, Miami is also an interesting natural location – in its immediate vicinity lies the Everglades National Park, with its unique wetland system and specific fauna and flora, and especially swamps that are full of alligators!

Cartagena de Indias / Colombia / Cartagena was once one of the most important ports of the Spanish colonial empire. Today, it attracts thousands of tourists – it is even among the most photogenic cities in South America. Its fortified core with several massive fortresses is a great example of Spanish military architecture. A walk through the winding streets of the old town with a number of churches, pastel houses, palaces, and picturesque corners leaves no doubt as to why Cartagena was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.

Columbus / Panama / Colón is the place where the Caribbean meets one of the greatest engineering marvels of the world – the Panama Canal. Just a short distance from the city, you can watch massive ocean liners passing through the locks, venture among monkeys and tropical birds on the shores of Gatun Lake, or explore forts reminiscent of the times of Spanish galleons and pirates. The coast of the Colón province also hides small Caribbean villages, rainforests, and crystal-clear seas around Portobelo. Colón is thus primarily a gateway to experiences that combine the famous canal, colonial history, and the wild nature of Panama.

Puerto Caldera (Puntarenas) / Costa Rica / Costa Rica is just a small country, but its natural wealth is all the greater. In 1502, Christopher Columbus discovered the country for Europeans, and after coffee began to be cultivated here in the 18th century, Costa Rica only flourished. Coffee still plays an important role in the country's economy today, as does tourism. Annually, 2.5 million visitors head to Costa Rica. If your cruise ship lands in the industrial Puerto Caldera, you will probably head straight to Puntarenas from there. Take a walk along the wide Paseo de los Turistas promenade and then set off to discover the beautiful Costa Rican nature – perhaps to Isla Tortuga or the Carara Nature Reserve.

San Juan Del Sur / Nicaragua / On the southwestern coast of Nicaragua lies a town of 15,000 people, which until recently was just a small fishing village. The gateway to the historically and culturally rich Granada and the unique volcanic landscape of the still-active Masaya volcano offers access to the country's most beautiful beaches. Wait for the right wave or simply relax with a chilled drink on the white sandy beach and swim in the warm ocean. Climb to one of the tallest statues of Jesus in the world and enjoy the stunning views, and don't miss the night expedition to see the turtles nesting in the nearby La Flor Nature Reserve.

Puerto Quetzal / Guatemala / The largest Pacific port of Guatemala doesn't have much to offer tourists – apart from a small market with handicrafts and a few bars, there's not much else to find here. Cruise ships drop off tourists who head to much more interesting places from here. One of them is La Antigua, the former seat of the Guatemalan kingdom, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site thanks to its beautiful Spanish colonial architecture and the ruins of old churches. Don't miss the largest animal park and zoo in Guatemala, a golf course in the shadow of majestic volcanoes, and finally, immerse yourself in the hot springs heated by the Pacaya volcano.

Puerto Vallarta / Mexico / In the Bay of Banderas on the Pacific coast, you will find a beach resort town that boasts a rich history. People have settled here for more than 2,500 years, and in the 18th century, a sleepy fishing village became a small port that has only grown since then. Stroll along the Malecón coastal promenade and relax on Playa los Muertos, the city's largest public beach. Observe birds and underwater life in the Los Arcos marine park. Shop for souvenirs at the Mercado Municipal and don't forget to taste some of the local fish specialties.

Cabo San Lucas / Mexico / Until the beginning of the 20th century, a sleepy fishing village at the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula became a popular celebrity destination in the 1970s. Today, tourists from all over the world flock to the resort town, chosen as one of the top five tourist destinations, drawn by its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. Sunbathe and relax on the bustling El Médano Beach, the much quieter Lover's Beach, or the opposite Divorce Beach. Board a boat and admire the stunning rock arch El Arco, and with a snorkel, explore the beautiful coral reef of Cabo Pulmo National Park.
