-
day-by-day itinerary1. daySeattle / USA (embarkation) / In 1852, the largest city in the American state of Washington, Seattle, was officially founded. One of the largest North American ports and an important technological hub of the country, it offers countless parks, interesting museums and galleries, as well as a vibrant music and coffee scene. Enjoy panoramic views from the futuristic Space Needle and a glimpse into the underground from the city's construction era. At the Museum of Natural History, learn about Seattle's past and then take a ride on the 53-meter-high Ferris wheel, ending with a dinner of the freshest seafood.
-
day-by-day itinerary3. dayJuneau (Alaska) / USA / In the Gastineau Channel, surrounded by dramatic peaks covered with eternal ice, lies the most peculiar of American capitals. Juneau, the capital of Alaska since 1906, is not connected to the rest of the country by any roads, so the only way to get here is by sea or air. Enjoy stunning views from the top of Mount Roberts and admire one of the country's most accessible glaciers, Mendenhall, during a hike, boat ride, or scenic flight. Visit the Glacier Gardens with trees "growing" upside down and the salmon hatchery, where you can learn everything about these fish. Tour the State Capitol, shop for glacier soap, and finish it all off with baked salmon and a well-chilled Alaskan beer.
-
day-by-day itinerary4. daySkagway / USA / At the end of the 19th century, a sleepy settlement in a narrow glacial valley on the Taiya River transformed into a bustling town for a few years. As suddenly as it came, the gold rush ended quickly, but its legacy is still evident in Skagway at every turn. Let the old good times breathe on you as you stroll through the historic center with its typical wooden buildings, and then set off for breathtaking views from the former gold rush narrow-gauge railway, carved into the granite ridge. Admire the stunning landscape of the Tongass National Forest and its wild inhabitants. Go whale watching, ride a dog sled, and finally, try your luck at gold panning.
-
day-by-day itinerary5. dayGlacier Bay (Alaska) (scenic cruising) / USA / In the narrow bay of Disenchantment in the eastern part of Alaska lies the world's largest tidal glacier and one of the country's most beautiful natural phenomena. The glacier, 120 kilometers long and nearly 11 kilometers wide, is named after the president of the National Geographic Society, and unlike most, it is not retreating but rather expanding. Admire the 400-year-old mass of ice rising 30 stories above the water's surface. Watch as huge chunks of ice break off from its face and crash thunderously into the sea. Delight in the icebergs, lazily floating on the surface, often shrouded in magical mist, and keep your eyes open: the local waters are home to sea otters, sea lions, and also whales.
-
day-by-day itinerary6. dayKetchikan (Alaska) / USA / Indian totems in the streets of Ketchikan still remind us of the city's glorious past, which transformed from an Indian fishing village into an important supply port during the Klondike gold rush in the 19th century. Today, a popular tourist resort, also known as the "salmon capital," offers countless activities almost always associated with the surrounding wilderness. Deep forests, lakes, waterfalls, and beaches full of seals, sea lions, and predators show visitors the magic of Alaska.
-
day-by-day itinerary7. dayVictoria (British Columbia) (Vancouver Island) / Canada / In the mid-19th century, Fort Victoria was established on the southern part of Vancouver Island, the capital of the Canadian province of British Columbia. The peaceful city with its pleasant climate attracts visitors with its beautiful colonial center, magnificent parks, and countless opportunities for active leisure. Admire the majestic Parliament buildings and the Victorian Craigdarroch Castle from the late 19th century. At the Royal British Columbia Museum, learn about the indigenous people and the modern history of the region, and then set off for a walk along the beautiful waterfront or in one of the stunning parks that have given Victoria the nickname "City of Gardens."
