Valparaíso / Chile (embarkation) / Valparaíso, a port city on the Pacific Ocean coast, is one of the most distinctive and colorful places in Chile. It is renowned for its hilly neighborhoods, historic "ascensores" funiculars, and vibrant street art, which gives the city a unique character. The historic center, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recalls the period of the greatest glory of this significant trading port, while the Cerro Alegre and Cerro Concepción neighborhoods attract with cafes, viewpoints, and narrow streets with ocean views. The distinctive atmosphere, cultural life, and unique character make Valparaíso one of the most interesting destinations on the Chilean coast.

Puerto Montt / Chile / In southern Chile, about a thousand kilometers from the capital, Santiago, you will find Puerto Montt. The city was founded by German colonizers in 1853 and was named after the then Chilean president who invited them to the country. The economy of the city, which was leveled by an earthquake in 1960 only to be rebuilt later – larger and more modern –, is based on agriculture, livestock farming, and fishing, but it is also becoming increasingly important as a tourist destination. Puerto Montt is the gateway to the Chiloé Archipelago, and people come here primarily for the stunning nature.

Chilean Fjords (scenic cruising) / Chile / From Cape Horn to the mouth of the Reloncaví River, the western coast of South American Chile is lined with countless bays and channels, known as the Chilean (or Patagonian) fjords. The first Europeans to arrive in the area inhabited by the indigenous Patagonian tribes were the Spanish, and today tourists flock here primarily for the breathtaking scenery. Land at Cape Horn and admire the stunning nature of the world's southernmost national park. Be enchanted by the majestic glaciers of Glacier Alley, descending all the way to the sea level. Visit Wulaia Bay and the museum dedicated to Charles Darwin, and observe colonies of Magellanic penguins, elephant seals, dolphins, and whales.

Ushuaia (Tierra del Fuego) / Argentina / The southernmost city is located on the island of Tierra del Fuego, covered with dense forests and majestic mountains with glaciers. Ushuaia, currently home to about 50,000 inhabitants, was founded in 1884 and became a penal colony at the beginning of the 20th century. Today, the former prison houses an interesting Antarctic museum. The area is an important fishing center, but the main part of its income now comes from tourism. People come here for the beautiful nature of Tierra del Fuego National Park and to observe penguins, sea lions, orcas, and huge colonies of birds.

Puerto Madryn / Argentina / In 1865, a hundred Welsh immigrants founded Puerto Madryn, which is now one of the fastest-growing cities in Argentina. The popular port in the Golfo Nuevo bay is the gateway to the stunning nature of Northern Patagonia and home to beautiful beaches. Admire the unique fauna of the Valdés Peninsula Nature Reserve, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Observe Magellanic penguins and massive sea lions in their natural habitat, and set out to see orcas and southern right whales aboard one of the sightseeing boats. At the Ecocenter, gather new information and enjoy the amazing views, and finally, taste some of the local specialties made from fresh fish and seafood.

Montevideo / Uruguay / Montevideo, the capital city of Uruguay, is one of the most significant port cities in South America and captivates with a combination of colonial history, elegant architecture, and a seaside atmosphere. The historic district of Ciudad Vieja houses the iconic Palacio Salvo and the prestigious Teatro Solís, while the coastal promenade La Rambla offers beautiful views of the Río de la Plata and the daily life of the locals. Among the most popular places is also the Mercado del Puerto, renowned for traditional Uruguayan cuisine and a lively atmosphere. Montevideo represents an ideal place to experience authentic culture, local life, and the relaxed rhythm of the Uruguayan coast.

Buenos Aires / Argentina (disembarkation) / The Argentine metropolis is one of the world's leading tourist destinations and a port that rivals the busiest ones on our entire planet. It was founded by the Spanish in the 16th century, and you can still find colonial architecture here today, along with many other styles brought by immigrants from all over the world. Multicultural Buenos Aires is a paradise for culture lovers – theater, museums, classical and popular music, or street art – but you'll also find satisfaction if you just want to relax in a park – there are over 250 of them here.
