The construction of the ship was initiated on June 10, 2021 at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, completed its sea trials with excellence in April 2023, and on August 1, 2023, it set sail from Copenhagen on a seven-night cruise to Reykjavik, Iceland. The ship's godmother is Dr. Sylvia Earle, a world-renowned oceanographer, explorer, and conservationist, highlighting Explora Journeys' commitment to sustainable luxury sea travel in conjunction with ocean conservation.
