Jeju / South Korea / The largest South Korean island was formed as a result of volcanic activity only two million years ago, and it is precisely the lava formations, along with the pleasant climate, beautiful nature, and interesting culture, that attract around ten million visitors annually. Among the most significant are the trio of lava sites, thanks to which the island was inscribed on the UNESCO list in 2007. The Manjanggul Cave hides one of the longest lava tubes in the world, while the Sangumburi Crater offers a unique display of volcanic landscape. The island's dominant feature is Hallasan Mountain, the highest peak in South Korea. For relaxation, Hallim Park with its themed gardens or Hamdeok Beach with white sand and crystal-clear water are also inviting.
