This French overseas department blends Caribbean vitality with French charm, and for its pleasant atmosphere, beautiful nature, and renowned rum, it is a sought-after tourist destination. The slopes around the dominant Mont Pelée volcano are rich with rainforests, plantations, and gardens, and it is no wonder that Martinique is often called the "island of flowers." Alongside white and volcanic beaches with black sand, you will find interesting landmarks, led by the capital city Fort-de-France with its colonial architecture, the massive Fort Saint Louis, and several intriguing museums.
