Cartagena de Indias / Colombia (embarkation) / Cartagena was once one of the most important ports of the Spanish colonial empire. Today, it attracts thousands of tourists – it is even among the most photogenic cities in South America. Its fortified core with several massive fortresses is a great example of Spanish military architecture. A walk through the winding streets of the old town with a number of churches, pastel houses, palaces, and picturesque corners leaves no doubt as to why Cartagena was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1994.

Oranjestad (Aruba) / Constituent Countries of the Netherlands / The former Dutch colony cannot deny its past: Oranjestad, the capital and largest city of the Caribbean island, is still adorned with tall colorful houses and a former fortress from the late 18th century. Interesting places include the Aloe Museum with a factory, which showcases the history of growing and processing this plant. The island's interior is characterized by a landscape covered with cacti and peculiar divi-divi trees shaped by the wind. Popular places for relaxation include Eagle Beach or Renaissance Island, which offers opportunities for snorkeling and diving. Traditional Aruban specialties include, for example, keshi yena, cheese stuffed with spiced meat.

Kralendijk (Bonaire) / Special Municipality of the Netherlands / The capital of the Dutch Caribbean island of Bonaire was founded in the first half of the 17th century as a fortress to defend against enemies. Today, Kralendijk is a charming colonial town and a starting point for exploring the stunning nature both above and below the sea surface. On Kaya Grandi street, admire the colorful historic houses, and in the Terramar museum, explore the rich history of the region. In the Washington Slagbaai National Park, observe elegant flamingos and then set off on a trip to Klein Bonaire with its beautiful sandy beaches and dozens of spots ideal for diving or snorkeling. Before leaving Bonaire, try the lionfish specialty or the tekibon drink made from the yatu cactus.

Cristobal (Columbus) / Panama / When you mention Panama, everyone immediately thinks of the famous canal connecting the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific. The city of Colón, boasting the second largest free trade zone in the world, is located just a few kilometers from its Atlantic outlet. The province of the same name offers, in addition to observing cargo vessels passing through one of the most important waterways, several interesting sites and monuments listed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites. These include, for example, the 16th-century military fortress of San Lorenzo, Portobelo National Park, or the capital city of Panama City itself with its historic buildings.
