MSC Cruises is a global cruise line headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. By passenger volume, it ranks as the fourth-largest cruise company in the world. The company was originally founded in 1960 in Naples, Italy, by Achille Lauro under the name Lauro Lines. At that time, the fleet consisted of just two ships – Angelina Lauro and MS Achille Lauro. In 1989, the company was acquired by the Mediterranean Shipping Company, and in 1995, it was rebranded as MSC Cruises. Today, MSC Cruises is the largest privately owned cruise company in the world, with offices in 45 countries and over 16,000 employees as of 2014.

Accommodation

MSC Cruises offers a wide range of staterooms and suites to suit every traveler, regardless of preferences or budget. Each ship includes interior cabins, ocean view cabins, balcony cabins, and suites of various sizes and comfort levels. Family cabins (or interconnecting rooms) are available for larger groups, and accessible cabins are provided for guests with limited mobility. For example, the company’s newest ship, MSC Euribia, features not only standard cabin categories but also Aurea suites with private terraces and whirlpools, as well as duplex suites with private hot tubs within the exclusive MSC Yacht Club.

Cabin features vary by type and class, but all include a double bed that can be converted into two singles, a spacious wardrobe, bathroom with shower or bathtub, air conditioning, safe, telephone, and Wi-Fi access (available for a fee).

Loyalty Program

MSC Cruises offers a loyalty program called MSC Voyagers Club, providing returning guests with a range of exclusive benefits, discounts, and rewards. The program has five tiers: Welcome, Classic, Silver, Gold, and Diamond. Passengers join the program automatically upon their first booking. Advancement through the tiers is based on the accumulation of points, which depend on factors such as cruise duration, cabin category, prepaid packages, and onboard spending. To maintain membership, guests must sail at least once every three years.
